Getting there and accessibility

Where to find us.

Streatham is in south London and is the southernmost part of the London Borough of Lambeth.

The church is in Streatham High Road (part of the A23 London to Brighton trunk road), facing Streatham Common and about 9km (5.6 miles) south of Westminster Bridge. Approaching from the south (from Croydon/Norbury) along the A23 it is immediately after Sainsbury's Superstore. From the north (from central London/Brixton/central Streatham) it is about 100 metres after the junction with Greyhound Lane (B272). There are traffic lights outside Sainsbury's and at the junction with Greyhound Lane. The church tower can be seen clearly for some distance when approaching from either direction.

The address is at the top of the page; there are contact numbers and e-mail addresses on the Home Page and the "Who's Who" page.

Getting there.

Access by road is straightforward. The church has no car park, but parking in the side roads behind the church, such as Westwell Road and Northanger Road, or beside the common in Streatham Common South opposite, is free, if at times congested. Note that Streatham High Road in front of the church is a "red route" and parking there is very restricted even on Sunday. The small car park behind the St John's House flats next door (the tall building behind the church in the picture) is for St John's House and is not for use by visitors to the church or hall users. Sainsbury's car park is intended for their customers only and the church has no arrangement to use it.

Access by public transport is good. The church is 5-10 minutes walk from both Streatham and Streatham Common national railway stations. Bus routes 50, 109, 250, 255, N159 and G1 pass the door and routes 60 and 118 stop nearby in Greyhound Lane. Routes 159, 249 and P13 serve Streatham Station.

There is a toilet for disabled visitors and hall users which also provides baby changing facilities. Most parts of the building are accessible for wheelchair users.

Transport can usually be arranged to assist those with mobility problems to get to services. A wheelchair and a walking frame are available for use within the building - please ask one of the stewards if you need either of them. There is an induction loop for hearing aid users and large print versions of most service books, etc., are available.
