One of the earliest existing icons of Christ, dating from the 6th Century - 'Christ the Pantokrator' (Ruler of all). From the Monastery of
St Catherine, at Mount Sinai. It shows Christ with a traditional halo, his left hand holding a Gospel Book and his right hand making a gesture of blessing.
