Flowers at Immanuel and St Andrew's Services
Our church flowers are provided and arranged by a small team, working on a rota. Terry Kemp*, who arranges the rota, is always pleased to receive offers of additional help.
The cost of the flowers is met from our general funds, but we are always very grateful for gifts towards the cost. Such gifts (marked "church flowers") can be put in the collection or handed to the treasurer. They can also be sent to the treasurer at the church address above.
We would also like to encourage members to consider taking responsibility for providing the flowers on a particular Sunday, perhaps in remembrance of a departed loved one, or to mark a special occasion. If you wish to do this please contact Terry Kemp in the first instance to make the necessary arrangements. You can then either pay for the flowers directly or find out the amount required and put it in the collection (appropriately marked) or give it to the treasurer. It may also be possible to acknowledge the gift and the occasion, say, in Open Door or in the notices.
Please note that, although gifts received towards flowers and the amount spent will be separately shown in the accounts the church does not operate a separate, restricted “flower fund”. Gifts towards church flowers are accepted on the understanding that, in the unlikely event that we receive more money towards flowers than we spend in the course of the year, the surplus will go towards the other general expenditure of the church.
*To protect individual privacy, private addresses and telephone numbers of members are not normally shown.
