The 19th century building had a number of stained glass windows, including large windows at the east and west ends. Most of these were sold when the church was rebuilt in 1988, and the only windows with explicitly Christian artwork remaining in the present building are in what are now known as the upper and lower rooms. These are the only part of the 19th century building that remains apart from the tower. This part was originally built as a chapel, although it was normally used as the choir vestry. When the church was rebuilt a floor was put in to provide an upstairs 'upper room' - hence what was downstairs became the 'lower room'.
The 'Faith Hope and Charity' window, now in the lower room, is the window that would have been above the altar had the room remained a chapel. There is also a tall window divided between the upper and lower rooms, the upper section of which (now in the upper room) has four small panels apparently depicting the four evangelists. The lower section (in the lower room) consists only of decorative panels.
Below are general views of the 'Faith, Hope and Charity' and 'Evangelists' windows. You can use the link below or those below the pictures to see enlarged views of some of the detail. The decorative panels in the lower room are shown in the column to the left.
At present the only window from the original building for which a photographic record is available is one of the smaller side windows, and this is reproduced at the bottom of the page. The window over the altar can be seen in the interior view on the 'photos from the parish archive' page, although little detail is discernable.
